Community participation

I volunteer every Tuesday at Meals on Wheels to deliver food to families in our community.

Meals on Wheels People was founded in 1969 by three caring women, Jean Wade, Martha Shull and Cay Kreiger, who saw a need in the community that was not being met. They gathered in the basement of the Lincoln Street Methodist Church in February 1970 to serve a hot lunch to about a dozen seniors and then delivered 14 Meals on Wheels on paper plates wrapped in newspaper.

Interests

  • I look forward to Saturday morning hikes at Forest Park with friends, my wife Jennifer and our sons Bennett and Royce.
  • I enjoy checking items off my bucket list. I recently rode my bike from Portland to Bend in one day with great support from friends and family and climbed Mt. Rainier.
  • Exploring the backcountry on skis.
  • Recently started racing cyclocross which is a lot of fun and is quite humbling.
  • Searching out new vineyards to visit.
