What is a Financial Advisor?

Recently a new client realized there is a difference in financial advisors. When realizing the differences, she made the comment that she thought the title Financial Advisor meant equal professional quality.

It is true that anyone can call themselves a financial advisor; and, although a Certified Financial Planner™ professional has training and certification, they may not use the tools in their professional business.

Too often we find consumers thinking of financial advisors as merely investment advisors. However, investments are just one component of the advice we provide. A comprehensive financial advisor develops professional relationships to guide clients through financial decisions for financial success.

At Affinity Wealth Advisory Group, we take it beyond just the science of planning to the art of advice. We do this by understanding how our clients digest information and aligning their values, goals, and risk tolerance to be able to make comfortable and confident financial decisions with our professional guidance. That is a mouthful!

We take seriously the importance of our clients making informed decisions in the key areas of financial planning, integrating the areas of your financial lives.

Just as a business has a profit and loss statement with a balance sheet, individuals use cash flow and net worth statements to assess financial health. Next is the assessing and understanding of the pros and cons of employer benefits for integration of goal solutions. Appropriate cash management for short-term goals provides the comfort of immediate needs. Minimizing taxes now and in the future may drive savings and investment decisions to maximize dollars. Measuring risk exposure reveals the impact of lifechanging events. Integration of legacy planning with life planning ensures wishes are met beyond the grave. And finally, the projections of longevity of assets pre- and post-financial independence for living life fully give purpose to our money.

In between this comprehensive planning are the day-to-day decisions and life quakes that allows us to assist our clients in their decisions and the impacts to their goals, adjusting as needed. Other life quakes can be disruptive to life, but with good planning it may be less financially disruptive than going it alone.

We take pride in helping people achieve financial comfort and confidence in their financial lives to live life fully. After all, we only get to do it once.
