Advisor profile

My approach

My simple investment philosophy is to help my clients:

  • Understand the balance between the competing risks of loss of principle vs. loss of future purchasing power.
  • Identify how much risk they can take with their investments and still sleep at night.
  • Analyze how much risk is necessary to achieve their stated goals.
  • Develop an investment strategy that allows for positive returns in good markets and limits losses in bad markets and where appropriate use Options to mitigate risk.

As a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor® and a Five Star Wealth Manager award winner, I provide clients with frequent opportunities to discuss and review what’s happening in the market and how their investments are performing.

I also offer my clients the personal attention to the details in their lives that contribute towards their long term wealth and happiness, such as:

  • Living the retirement lifestyle they want
  • Eliminating or reducing their fears of running out of money
  • Knowing they can pass their wealth on to their families in a tax efficient manner.

Interests

My passions are golf, reading science fiction (everyone from Asimov to Zelazny - A to Z), guitar, traveling and chess.

I annually compete in golf tournaments and own several trophies. My travels have allowed me to play 6 of the top 10 courses in the world outside the USA and hope to play all 10. My Favorites are Royal County Down, New South Wales and, of course, The Old Course at St. Andrews.

My band jams weekly and as lead guitarist and vocalist I get to enjoy my passion to play classic rock and roll (though I admit with a lot more enthusiasm than talent).

I share homes in Naples, FL and Northbrook, IL with Minda, my wife of 30 years.
