Financial Advisor

Position functions:

Our compensation model is designed to reward advisors for the experience and level of practice they bring. We provide payouts that apply to clients regardless of asset level, because we understand client relationships extend far beyond their assets under management.

Compensation

Performance-based payout rates range from 72% to 91% of Gross Dealer Concession (GDC). Initial fixed payouts for a guaranteed term are based on multiple factors. Additional compensation and bonus opportunities may be available.

Client Service Associate/Manager

Help conduct the operation of a financial advisory practice with an independent franchisee of Ameriprise Financial. Assist financial advisor(s) in managing office work flow with an emphasis on creating and delivering a unique client experience. Consistently follow high standards of business and professional ethics and legal and regulatory requirements.

Provide client relationship support through interacting directly with clients to ensure accurate account set up, answering client questions, coordinating/tracking projects and perform other practice management tasks such as organizing client seminars.

Responsibilities and time allocation will change over time to meet the needs of the practice and can include other duties as assigned by the advisor.

Position functions:

Business management

  • Work with home office to ensure accurate account setup and resolve issues
  • Answer questions and provide readily available information to clients
  • Maintain files and records
  • Provide insight on effective use of key tools (website, social media, email, etc.)

Client Care

  • Set up and maintain client management system
  • Write letters to clients and administer client appreciation events and seminars
  • Attend and participate in client meetings as necessary
  • Conduct transaction requests as directed
  • Receive and administer communications to/from clients and prospects to schedule appointments or refer to advisor

Key traits of a successful Client Service Associate/Manager:

  • Effective communication with clients, advisors and staff
  • Strong computer and phone skills
  • Efficient time management, attention to detail, organization, and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to adhere to rules and regulations as required by advisor and Ameriprise Financial
  • Ability to support and provide guidance for compliance
  • Positive attitude and sincere willingness to continually learn and grow

Education and other designations:

  • College degree or higher
  • 2+ years of related experience
  • Have or be to able obtain licenses and registrations for securities, including: Series 7, Series 66, and State life, accident and health insurance licenses

This position will be an employee/contractor of an independent Franchise Advisor, not of Ameriprise Financial.

Administrative Assistant (entry level)

Help conduct the operation of a financial advisory practice with an independent franchisee of Ameriprise Financial. Assist in daily business operations allowing the advisor to focus on client acquisition and deepening client relationships.

Provide administrative support by scheduling meetings, preparing presentations, preparing client communications, tracking new business correspondence, coordinating/tracking projects and managing business-as-usual projects such as filing, copying, printing and organizing the logistics of client seminars.

Responsibilities and time allocation will change over time to meet the needs of the practice and can include other duties as assigned by the advisor.

Position functions:

Administrative assistance

  • Prepare correspondence for advisor signature
  • Copy and track all client and practice materials including business correspondence
  • Copy and follow-up with home office on related issues
  • Schedule and prepare agendas and forms for client appointments
  • Conduct client appointment reminder calls and check-in calls on follow up items
  • Assist others in the practice

Client care

  • Greet and extend hospitality to clients and document client communications
  • Set up and maintain client management system and track client special events
  • Write notes or letters to clients and administer client appreciation tasks

Key traits of a successful Administrative Assistant:

This position will be an employee/contractor of an independent Franchise Advisor, not of Ameriprise Financial.

Associate Financial Advisor

Help conduct the operation of a financial advisory practice with an independent franchisee of Ameriprise Financial. Assist financial advisor(s) to help clients work toward achieving their financial goals. The franchise owner will lead you to hone your skills, build a base of clients, and create a unique client experience for the practice. This position will consistently follow high standards of business and professional ethics and legal and regulatory requirements.

This role provides client and practice support through managing client data, preparing financial plans and other deliverables, coordinating/tracking projects, organizing client seminars and other practice management tasks as needed.

Responsibilities and time allocation will change over time to meet the needs of the practice and can include other duties as assigned by the advisor.

Position functions:

Marketing and client acquisition

  • Develop and implement annual marketing plan to meet client acquisition goals
  • Drive client acquisition using referral program, network marketing and natural markets
  • Contact clients and prospects to set up meetings or appointments
  • Coordinate seminars and client appreciation events
  • Implement online marketing initiatives (website, social media)
  • Implement local advertising and media relations

Financial planning and advice

  • Identify clients to engage in planning relationships
  • Prepare planning discussions and deliverables for client meetings
  • Gather and enter client data into Financial Planning Tool Suite
  • Perform case analysis and develop recommendations
  • Conduct and participate in client meetings to deliver recommendations and advice
  • Answer questions for clients and hold clients accountable

Product solutions

  • Assess the client’s risk tolerance, goals and time frame
  • Recommend portfolio and product solutions to clients based on their needs
  • Develop product deliverables
  • Conduct transactions and execute trades to align with portfolios on behalf of clients
  • Monitor economy, markets, and world events to determine strategic rebalancing
  • Manage wholesaler relationships

Business management and client care

  • Review and implement work methods and procedures for quality improvement
  • Delegate work and provide feedback, training and technical/general support
  • Set up and maintain files, records and client management system
  • Ongoing communication with clients including email, phone calls and letters

Key traits of a successful associate financial advisor:

  • Ability to source prospective clients and present planning strategies
  • Entrepreneurial desire to grow the business with initiative in business development
  • Ability to recommend suitable investment products and services
  • Success at planning/managing resources and high level of interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adhere to rules and regulations as required by advisor and Ameriprise Financial
  • Ability to support and provide guidance for compliance
  • Current client database preferred
