The Power of Catch-Up Contributions

As you approach retirement, increasing savings is important, and catch-up contributions can offer an excellent opportunity to do so.

For 2024, those aged 50 and older can contribute an additional $7,500 to their 401(k), 403(b), and most 457 plans, bringing the total potential contribution to $30,500. For IRA accounts, the $1,000 catch-up contribution remains available, now with an annual cost-of-living adjustment. These increased limits can help close savings gaps and leverage potential tax advantages. It’s a straightforward, impactful way to help supercharge your retirement strategy.
